The project focuses on the urgent renovation and rehabilitation of the Central Sterilization and Recovery Departments at the European Gaza Hospital, with the mission of providing comprehensive, high-quality healthcare services to patients across all hospital departments in accordance with international health standards. The Recovery Unit accommodates up to 8 beds, while the Central Sterilization Unit supports every specialized department — from cardiac surgery and catheterization labs to neurosurgery and daily care units — making it a cornerstone of the hospital’s operational capacity. This essential project includes: 1- Comprehensive civil works, including dismantling, installation, removal, carpentry, plumbing, finishing, painting, and the installation of new marble, granite, and tiled flooring, as well as suspended ceilings. 2- Electrical works, including the repair and upgrading of the hospital’s internal electrical network. 3- Procurement, installation, and commissioning of three state-of-the-art instrument washing machines. Through these targeted interventions, the project will fully restore the operational capacity of both departments, create a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff, and significantly enhance the quality of healthcare services delivered to the community.

The total number of beneficiaries is approximately 700,000 individuals, detailed as follows: 1.Patients among women and children: The number of women in Rafah is estimated at around 217,000 (most of whom are of reproductive age). The number of children under the age of 18 is estimated at approximately 200,000. 2.Patients other than women and children: Their number is estimated at around 200,000 individuals or more. 3.Medical and administrative staff: The project will enhance their work efficiency, improve execution speed, and increase accuracy.
